My Top 5 Skincare Products To Pack To India
I am the type of woman that likes to take care of herself and my skincare routine for my face is no exception. Why should I change my routine just because I am travelling? I am fortunate enough that I am not backpacking.
The first time I travelled to India I had no idea what to pack in terms of skincare for my face. Could I buy the products I use there? Are they affordable to buy? Should I pack everything with me and take up the little space I have in my suitcase? I decided to just pack the essentials with me. I am so glad that I did, as I cannot buy any of these products here. Sure you can buy parallel products, which are essentially a knock off version and can contain harsh chemicals or inferior ingredients. It's just not worth it especially if you have sensitive skin like myself. Or you will find most products are altered to suit their customers. Such as adding whitening agents to washes and creams.
The Indian environment is heavy with smog that blankets most cities and even in the countryside. This might sound disgusting but you can tell just how much pollution and dust is in the air just by cleaning your nose with a tissue. You need to do this daily, which should give you a fair enough picture. The water in particular is harsh on the skin and full of bacteria. Many Indian women complain about the harsh water giving them acne and dry skin. When they see my complexion they are surprised that I have not become victim to the harsh water. I always tell them that is because of my skincare routine. I stick to it religiously every night before I go to bed so that way my morning routine is relatively hassle free.
The second time I travelled to India I ensured to pack a 6 month's supply with me to get me through my entire stay. However if I do need to purchase any, I simply go to amazon.com who ship internationally - just click on any of the subtitles or images below to view product information. Especially since the Skin Perfection and Youth Code ranges both seem to be discontinued and difficult to buy depending on where you live. The skincare products I use are all super affordable however not the most affordable that you can buy on the market. However for the price you pay you are receiving a quality product. The Skin Perfection range by L'Oreal is suitable for women 25 to 35. I am in my early thirties and find that this range is best suited to me. However at times I do use the Revitalift range for ages 35 to 45.
My Top 5
to Pack to India
This is an absolute essential and I will not travel anywhere without it. Especially since I don't use foundation. I am sure all of you know just how amazing a good BB Cream is. L'Oreal is my pick as it has good coverage and leaves my skin feeling beautifully smooth. It also has SPF15+ so it gives light protection from the sun's harmful rays. I apply it every morning after I have washed my face and I'm ready for the day.
Every morning I use my battery operated cleansing brush with L'Oreal Skin Perfection Wash. It's a great way to wake up your skin for the day so it is bright and glowing. I love it because it leaves my face feeling silky smooth.
I cannot say enough about this, I absolutely love, love, love it. I first bought it as they were reduced to only $30AUD at the time. So I thought why not try it. The pack comes with a Gamma Hydroxy Cream, Exfoliating Crystals and vibrating micro dermabrasion tool. I use the old version which only comes with a smooth cleansing pad which personally I prefer. However the new version also comes with a cleansing brush. Which is perfect for those who don't have one yet. Everyone is different but I tend to do this every second evening before bed. It is recommended that you only need to do it once a week. You only need the smallest amount of crystals to apply on your face, then away you go. It sloughs off all dead skin cells leaving your skin silky smooth. The vibrations help reduce inflammation and water retention which I have noticed visible improvement in myself. The Exfoliating Crystals formula isn't a gel wash with exfoliating agents added like most. It is a heavy thick paste with tonnes of micro crystals which is why it is called an at home micro dermabrasion kit. After you have finished you apply the Gamma Hydroxy Cream then can follow with your own skincare routine. I personally don't use the cream as it is too heavy for my skin and I tend to breakout. So I skip this part for my face.
Instead of the Gamma Hydroxy Cream I apply L'Oreal Skin Perfection Serum. Again this range from L'Oreal leaves your skin silky smooth. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and in particular your pores which is a massive issue for me. You can notice the difference in just a few days. I apply it in the evenings after I have exfoliated.
You would think I use the Skin Perfection range here but they just don't have a night cream. The day cream just doesn't cut it and doesn't have the same silky smooth feel. So I have continued to use Youth Code which was released first. It's another one I have noticed is discontinued. After I apply the Skin Perfection Correcting Serum I then apply a small amount of Youth Code Night Moisturising Cream as a little goes a long way. It leaves my skin smooth and supple without breakouts. It doesn't feel heavy and it actually soaks into the skin unlike some creams that leave the skin feeling wet.
So as you can see my routine isn't overly tedious and is affordable. If I can't afford a product at a particular time I stick to the utmost bare essentials being BB Cream, Face Wash and Moisturiser.
